The best alternative to Slack Workflow

The absence of tags or other ordering mechanisms means that knowledge discovery workflows take the form of “I remember I spoke to Jake about X, I think it was Wednesday, let me scroll back”, possibly assisted by a search. The information I look for is often diluted by side comments that are irrelevant to my query. The software is bad for personal mental health and for organizational knowledge management and long-term productivity.

The Huddle feature has very buggy audio and video compared to many other virtual meeting competitors, and their customer service is rarely helpful. Customer service seems to think unpairing and re-pairing audio devices solves everything and it doesn’t.

People are not used to Slack Workflow as much as they are instant messaging or emails, so a lot of people have bad etiquette, which can make Slack Workflow a lot more annoying and bothersome than it should be.

You essentially have to make additional workflows/forms for each. -It gets a bit messy, even if you’re great at setting up notifications, channels, communicating through it etc., it can get out of control quickly. Plus, you also have to rely on other people’s knowledge on how to use the tool.

The interface is very strange as is the fact that you have a separate email & password for every Slack Workflow channel you join. Feature for feature, Slack Workflow is just a worse version of Discord.

The software is bad for task management, you need those items in a separate service. Furthermore, you shouldn’t use channels (or at least notifications) for team chats unless the team is small. You should really break down topics by project.

It’s like a poor man’s middleware. Destitute maybe.

You can make poorly constructed forms with tons and tons of fields, non-unique ids, etc. The editor doesn’t complain, but when you trigger the action, the form just isn’t shown — there’s probably an entry in a log somewhere, but there’s nothing visible to the user or the workflow author.
