Here’s why people don’t like Sharepoint

I have always had headaches using the software in every job I’ve ever seen it used. It’s really among the worst in terms of sync issues. I don’t quite know the difference between OneDrive services and SP services. They seem to work together but file sharing is a mess and the inability to be consistent with the interface is an issue.
Sharepoint review on Reddit
I have never seen a ‘proper’ implementation of the software and didn’t think that was even possible. To me, it has always been one of the clunkiest, worst conceived pieces of software MS has ever produced.
Sharepoint review on Reddit
The software sites can be clunky. People think they need to find alternatives.
Sharepoint review on Gartner
The software development is also a pain. As a developer, I find it difficult to develop on the platform as there are limited resources and Microsoft official documentation lacks adequate coverage for edge case errors.
Sharepoint review on Gartner
One challenge with the software is its initial setup and learning curve. New users may find it overwhelming to navigate the features and permissions. Additionally, customization beyond the basics can require technical expertise, which might mean involving IT support for certain configurations. Microsoft 365 Developer in a Small Business.
Sharepoint review on G2
I would like more intuitive user interfaces and simplified navigation to improve the overall user experience. The absence of these in the software can significantly hinder the user experience. Users may find it challenging to locate and access the features and content they need, leading to frustration and reduced efficiency.

I also really dislike that when I want to share a “forced copy” of a document to a client, so the client can just make his/her own copy, I am unable to do so. I dislike the administration part due to it’s complexity. In large companies with lots of rules it is more difficult to organize the content in a proper manner. My only complaint in using the software is the frequency and speed of syncing, or rather lack there of. Often find syncing to be slow causing delays in remote project collaboration.
Sharepoint review on Capterra
I used to love the software, but the changes are horrible. I’ll never understand “upgrading” a system, but taking away features that were useful and convenient to users. Who’s idea was it to allow people to be Site Owners, but not truly give them FULL CONTROL over THEIR site! And who came up with the genius idea to provide such limited and HIDEOUS color palettes?! It’s annoying AF that I can’t customize items in Calendar View.
Sharepoint review on Microsoft Community
The software has the ability to work well or not work well at all. At least you know when it’s not working it’s more than likely Microsoft. Also They suck@ ! Well to start the software sucks! It would help if it wasn’t part of Microsoft, it would probably suck less. Reviewer from the Banking industry with 10,000+ employees
Sharepoint review on Software Advice
The new update with the icons and you can see every user jumping around in list at the same is a a really bad feature. And when you double click on a row in a list, the body that pops up is much smaller than before. Today after the update it is locked to only 2 columns in width. Before it was 3- 4 columns wide and much more user friendly. This new list update is a huge disappointment for us.
Sharepoint review on Microsoft Community
It is clunky and loads a lot of directories within a single path making it hard to travel between spaces.
Sharepoint review on Capterra
Every time more than 3 people are in it, I just don’t even mess with it because it’s not able to save my changes, I have to discard them, or sometimes I make my changes only to open it hours later and find nothing was saved. I can’t even work on it when other people are in it.
Sharepoint review on Reddit
The historical problem with the software has been that it was too flexible, giving implementation teams too much scope to build overly complex solutions. This led to complaints of it being too difficult to upload documents or of finding them again in the future.
Sharepoint review online
When I close the editing sidebar, the buttons double stack up, it doesn’t look right, and it shortens the description? This is plain silly, to give the option to add a description with a character limit that is longer than what will actually be displayed.

Summary of connectors and integrations

What is SharePoint used for?

SharePoint is primarily a document management and storage system. While it can store process documentation, it doesn’t actually track or run processes in real-time. It’s like having a library of instructions without any way to ensure people follow them or know what’s happening right now. This limitation often leads to confusion and inefficiency in daily operations.

What exactly is Tallyfy and how is it different?

Tallyfy is a modern workflow management system that goes beyond simple documentation. It actively tracks and manages processes in real-time, eliminating the chaos of manual tracking. Users typically save about 2 hours per person per day by automating status updates and task management. Unlike static document systems, Tallyfy ensures processes are actually followed, not just documented.

Why is documenting processes not enough?

Simply documenting processes in SharePoint doesn’t guarantee anyone will follow them. It’s like having a cookbook but never knowing if anyone is actually cooking the recipes correctly. Tallyfy solves this by actively tracking each step, ensuring accountability, and providing real-time visibility into process execution.

Does SharePoint have a discount for certain countries?

SharePoint doesn’t offer country-specific pricing adjustments. In contrast, Tallyfy provides thoughtful, permanent discounts up to 90% based on each country’s GDP per capita, making it accessible to organizations worldwide regardless of their economic situation.

How does Tallyfy handle process improvement?

Tallyfy enables continuous improvement through an elegant feedback system where users can comment on specific steps. These comments go directly to process owners for review, creating a natural improvement cycle. SharePoint, being a document repository, lacks this dynamic feedback loop for real-world process optimization.

How does AI integration differ between SharePoint and Tallyfy?

While SharePoint offers basic AI features, Tallyfy integrates AI thoughtfully into specific workflow needs. It includes automatic file migration for existing SOPs, computer vision AI for automation, and practical AI applications that solve real business problems – not just generic chatbot responses.

What are the common frustrations with SharePoint?

Users often struggle with SharePoint’s complexity, scattered documents, and lack of real-time process tracking. Common complaints include “What’s the status?”, “Did anyone complete this?”, and “Where’s the latest version?” Tallyfy eliminates these issues by providing clear, real-time process status and centralized workflow management.

How can I see real customer reviews of Tallyfy?

You can read authentic customer reviews and success stories at Tallyfy’s customer stories page. These reviews highlight real experiences and benefits from organizations using Tallyfy for their workflow management needs.

Does Tallyfy offer free professional services?

Yes, unlike SharePoint which often requires expensive consultants, Tallyfy provides free professional services to ensure your success. To learn more about these services and get started, schedule a chat with our team.

How do I get started with Tallyfy?

The best way to experience Tallyfy is through a personalized demo. Our team will set up a custom instance tailored to your needs. Book your demo here and see how Tallyfy can transform your workflow management.
