Here’s why people don’t like Asana
The reporting is terrible. “Whats open, whats closed, whats due” sounds good for a 3-man band, terrible for 6 distributed teams and departments. SLOW – the web app spins up every time and makes me want to die. No caching. No hierarchy. Projects have their own little areas. No parent/children. Gantt? Forget about it. It lacks a “today” type swimlane on a global scale, and dashboards must be created for all projects. It seems great for SIMPLE needs and small shops, bad for big teams.
Asana review on Reddit
The people who run the company dictate that I must use the product exactly how they think I should – no matter how inconvenient it is for me and the thousands of other users who complain about the same things. Their iron-fisted arrogance went too far. Every time I launch the desktop app, it takes up my entire screen, which is irritating. There’s no way to automatically assign all new tasks to yourself. The notifications pile up in the left column vertically. That covers up the left sidebar, precisely when I need to see and navigate the sidebar. I’m sick of the company’s smugness and disregard for their users.
Asana review on Reddit
This can be frustrating because you are only able to see conflicting requirements in the Timeline view. Right now it’s a mess, and I’m sure that has more to do with us than the Asana. We’re 80 people, we’re on the way to be 200, and I’m worried about how much crazier it will get.
Asana review on Software Advice
Comments on tasks are not easily searchable. I’ve had a hard time going back in time to find comments with important information. The chat function is clunky. It is not as functional or searchable as other tools.
Asana review on Reddit
Unfortunately, its complexity and limited reported features hinder its use in more demanding environments.
Asana review online
Integration with Slack was not smooth, faced multiple challenges which had a bad impact on the initial experience. Automation tasks are limited to a small number for the starter pack. It should be increased. Reporting and Analytics have some scope for improvement in terms of flexibility and customization.
Asana review on Gartner
Can be overwhelming for new users; Lacks to-do list prioritization feature; Potentially costly for large teams; Limited customization for project views and workflows.
Asana review online
What I liked least about the Asana was the occasional clutter when managing complex projects, as too many tasks and subtasks could make it overwhelming. Additionally, some features felt limited unless you upgraded to the premium version.
Asana review on Capterra
The whole app left me indifferent or even slightly repulsed. Sounds really harsh when I write it, but it’s the truth.
Asana review on Software Advice
Very bad UI and super non-intuitive.
Asana review on Reddit
It’s a scam. It’s total garbage. You can’t cancel and you will keep getting charged without your authorization. And customer service will not help you!
Asana review on Reddit
I hated working with it daily.
Asana review on Hacker News
The notifications sometimes (not always) take a long time to arrive. I wish it wouldn’t log me out so often because it’s annoying. I am a bit hesitant to recommend this for larger teams.
Asana review on GetApp
Asana was a bad fit. There isn’t a collaborator function, nor can you mix and match licenses. Some of what we needed is Enterprise functionality, but you can’t mix enterprise with premium, and I wasn’t willing to license everyone into an enterprise plan. Aside from that, the Asana was missing some important features – it doesn’t play well with the MS Suite, it doesn’t have any change control or tracking, and the suite of reporting is limited.
Asana review online
It lacks some advanced features like budgeting and detailed reports. It is a nightmare to deploy to an enterprise environment and administer. Their support is non-existent even for work-stoppage issues.
Asana review on Gartner
Features that were free disappeared and replaced by a Business-tier only feature. Premium users may feel cheated because they now have to upgrade to get the feature. Also, it is now especially hard to sign up for the free version.
Asana review on Medium
The level of support offered by the Asana is so bad it might as well not exist at all. I have been waiting for support for a week, with multiple attempts made to get someone involved. The worst part is this need for support is not predicated on my own ignorance but is based on the Asana breaking one of the key features I needed.
Asana review on Reddit
Asana is not for everyone.
Asana review on Youtube
Running a “best practice” business operation is done without Asana. Asana highly polices, curates, and censors its community.
Asana review on Reddit
As your Asana grows your spent paying your staff attempting to managing the Task Templates proportionally increases. Task Template that adds Jen in support? Oh! Jen quit and Becca who already works for you is taking that over? Yes, you must go through every single project and edit each Task Template that mentions Jen and change it to Becca. This is a nightmare.
Asana review on Reddit
Going through the reviews afterwards may be more tedious as you have to open all subtasks.
Asana review on Asana forum
I had critical billing issues and looked for someone to talk to since 2 weeks with no one considering me. The Help Center page in completely useless. The chatbot is… well, not helpful

Tallyfy does not charge for basic services
Need 1:1 help? Unlike costly “professional services” or third-party consultants for Asana – Tallyfy guarantees free 25-minute screen-sharing calls with workflow experts for life.
Tallyfy is the only workflow software whose pricing is discounted using the GDP-per-capita of your primary country. If you qualify you get an even better product with even more value. Choosing Tallyfy over Asana is a no-brainer.
Asana is primarily a project management tool focused on managing ad-hoc tasks and projects. While it’s popular for task tracking, it wasn’t built for repeatable processes or workflow automation. This makes it less suitable for companies looking to scale their operations through standardized, repeatable processes.
What exactly is Tallyfy and how is it different?
Tallyfy is a specialized workflow automation platform that transforms chaotic operations into smooth, trackable processes. Unlike project tools, it focuses on repeatable workflows that can be standardized and automated. Users typically save 2 hours per person daily through automated tracking, smart delegation, and consistent process execution. This approach helps companies scale operations efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
Why should companies choose process management over project management?
While project management tools like Asana handle one-off tasks, process management through Tallyfy creates sustainable, repeatable operations. As W. Edwards Deming said, “If you can’t describe what you’re doing as a process, you don’t know what you’re doing.” Processes, unlike projects, can be automated, improved, and scaled – essential factors for growing businesses.
Does Asana have a discount for certain countries?
Asana doesn’t offer GDP-based pricing or significant regional discounts. In contrast, Tallyfy provides thoughtful, lifetime discounts up to 90% off based on each country’s GDP per capita, making it accessible to companies worldwide regardless of their economic situation.
How does Tallyfy handle process improvement?
Tallyfy excels at continuous improvement through its elegant feedback system. Users can leave contextual comments directly within processes, which are automatically routed to process owners for review. This creates a natural cycle of improvement that’s missing in project-focused tools like Asana.
How does AI integration differ between Asana and Tallyfy?
While Asana offers basic AI features, Tallyfy integrates AI thoughtfully throughout the platform. It includes practical applications like automated SOP migration, computer vision AI for mouse and keyboard automation, and targeted AI assistance rather than generic chatbots. This approach delivers real operational value rather than just trendy features.
What are the key problems with Asana?
Asana’s project-centric approach makes it difficult to standardize operations and achieve true automation. It lacks proper workflow automation capabilities, process improvement cycles, and the ability to track repeatable processes effectively. Users often struggle with its complex interface and limited process visualization options.
How can I see real customer reviews of Tallyfy?
You can explore authentic customer success stories and reviews at Tallyfy’s customer showcase page. These reviews highlight how organizations have transformed their operations by switching from project management to process management.
Does Tallyfy offer free professional services?
Yes, unlike Asana, Tallyfy provides free professional services to ensure your success. This includes implementation support, process design assistance, and ongoing guidance. To learn more about these services, schedule a chat with our team.
