Launching Processes
Starting a Process from a Template
Once you have templates set up, launching processes is how you put them to work. Each launch creates a new process (also called a "run") that tracks its own progress.
How to Launch a Process
- Navigate to Templates in the left sidebar
- Find the template you want to use
- Click the Launch button
- Fill in any kickoff form fields
- Review and confirm assignments
- Click Start Process
The Kickoff Form
Many templates have a kickoff form that collects information before the process starts:
- Process name (auto-generated or custom)
- Key data needed for the process (customer name, project ID, etc.)
- Due date for overall process completion
- Assignment overrides for specific steps
Assignment Options at Launch
When launching, you can adjust who is assigned to steps:
- Use template defaults - Keep assignments as defined in template
- Override specific steps - Change assignees for this process only
- Assign to process starter - You become the assignee
Process Naming
Good process names help with tracking and searching:
- Include identifying info: "Onboarding - Jane Smith - Marketing"
- Use consistent patterns across launches
- Can use form field values in the name automatically
Quick Launch Options
- Keyboard shortcut - Press
Ctrl + Option + P(Mac) orCtrl + Alt + P(Windows) to launch a process - Favorites - Star frequently used templates for quick access
- Recent - Access recently launched templates
- URL launch - Direct links to launch specific templates
Pro Tip: Create a naming convention for your team. For example: "[Template Name] - [Customer/Project] - [Date]" keeps everything organized.
