Building Your First Template

Creating a template in Tallyfy is straightforward. This lesson walks you through the process step by step.

Starting a New Template

  1. Click Templates in the left sidebar
  2. Click the + New Template button
  3. Choose your template type (Procedure, Form, or Document)
  4. Give your template a clear, descriptive name

Template Settings

Configure these essential settings:

  • Name - Use clear, action-oriented names like "Employee Onboarding" or "Invoice Approval"
  • Description - Explain when and why to use this template
  • Folder - Organize templates into logical categories
  • Permissions - Control who can view, edit, and launch
  • Tags - Add keywords for easier searching

Adding Steps

Each step represents a task in your process:

  1. Click + Add Step
  2. Enter a clear step title (use action verbs: "Review application", "Approve request")
  3. Add detailed instructions in the description
  4. Set the step type (Task, Approval, Email, etc.)
  5. Assign who should complete this step
  6. Set a deadline (fixed date or relative to process start)
